Sinead revealed that she can make anything from €100 to €1,500 from just one date.

She continued: ‘It suited me well as I wasn’t very well off and was a great way of supporting myself. I never worried as I always met them in public places.

‘From the app, I’d make at least €100 for every date. Of course, some would offer more to go back to a room or go home with them, but I always decline.’

It’s not uncommon for sugar babies or sugar daddies to be seeing more than one person, she tells Extra.ie.

At one point, Sinead was seeing four sugar daddies, which she says was ‘brilliant’.

‘We would go on little shopping trips, meet up, and have stay overs which I’d always be rewarded with greatly,’ she recalled.

‘For example, one night I stayed over in one of my sugar daddies’ homes and when he was dropping me home, he handed me €1,300 in an envelope to go and “spoil myself”.

‘How much I get each time varies — sometimes I wouldn’t accept their money as it wasn’t just about that for me, it was fun.

‘They would think so much higher of me once they knew I wasn’t just about the money, it’s probably while I still have a sugar daddy around.

As in any situation where you’re meeting a stranger, safety is highly important.

Some of Sinead’s friends and family know of her sugaring, which helps her stay safe.

She said: ‘I’m very aware of safety. When I go on a date I’d let someone know who I was going to meet and where. If they didn’t hear back from me at a certain time, they’d ring me.

‘I always have a safety routine and I’d advise anyone else doing it to have one.’

Sinead enjoys being a sugar baby, saying the best part of it is the chance to meet some ‘lovely people’ as well as going to nice places and ‘being spoiled’.

However, it’s not as great as some may make it out to be: ‘Of course there are bad parts; there are people being d**kheads and expecting everything on the first meet up. Some just have rotten attitudes or would be plain rude. A good few I just walked out and left.’

When asked what kind of money she’s made from sugaring, Sinead said it’s difficult to add it all up because of all the gifts she’s received.

‘I’ve been sent gifts from people all over the world, I’d never be able to add up how much it would all cost,’ she insisted.

‘I’ve been given designer bags, watches, outfits of my choosing, and been brought on holiday. There are also cash gifts, some up to €1,500.’

Some have said sugar babies should be taxed for the cash and goods they receive, which Sinead doesn’t agree with because her relationship with her sugar daddy is more than just material.

She explained: ‘I keep in contact with my sugar daddy and if I ever need anything they’re the first to help.

‘People who think sugar babies should be taxed is ridiculous, it’s like taxing air.’

With the perks of sugaring so grand, it’s easy to see why people in Ireland, especially students, are interested.

Sinead offered some words of advice, saying: ‘For anyone who is thinking of becoming a sugar baby, make sure you’re safe. Never get in cars with strangers and always have a safety plan.

‘When you meet the person, if the plans change make sure you update whoever you have in on your safety plan.

*Names have been changed to protect the identity of individuals.

‘Of course, those that don’t know about it will judge and have their own opinion, just like everyone else. That’s just the world we’re in.’

‘Society’s perception of sugar babies is that it’s prostitution. It’s very far from it but a thin line can be crossed easily if not careful.
